Canelo won't be a true MW champ until he beats the True MW champ

Canelo is a Paper champ, and as far as many are concerned, the WBC interim title is the true WBC MW title right now.

First, Canelo needs to fight a MW at 160. But until he can beat GGG, Canelo is a MW champ n name only. So who cares if he was first Mexican Lineal MW champ, he took a non-MW path to get there. He can claim he is a two division champion, but it's simply a farce.

Canelo isn't doing that. For one, why they want to give Lemieux a shot at the title when he just lost. It'd look bad.

Two, if Lemieux won, we'd be stuck with GGG v. Lemieux again, and why would we want that?

If Canelo is the new face of boxing like Oscar, well Gomez because Oscar is MIA, says then Canelo needs to fight a top 5 MW. You can't claim to be the biggest star in boxing and turn around and bring a SWW up to MW. Lemieux, Jacobs, Lee, or Quillin are the only acceptable names. They must be crazy if they think people coming to Vegas on Cinco de Mayo weekend to see Canelo v. Clottey/Rosado/Bradley/Cotto II.

The best fight would be a rematch with Cotto. Canelo wasn't really in any danger, so it should be an easy payday that wouldn't jeopardize the triple gay fight.

If they fight Clottey or Rosado I would be pissed. That is definitely not a good pre-fight build up to a Golovkin fight. Unless he's gonna fight twice before September and the second fight is gonna be against someone better. Fight a top 10 MW ffs. You can't just go from fighting Cotto and Clottey/Rosado to fighting Golovkin. These guys are not real top MW's. Clottey is old, Rosado is a good journeyman who will never be top 10 at MW. I mean GGG is fighting Johnson who is no better but at least he is a MW, not a top MW but at least in size is a real MW which is what Canelo should be looking to do.
