Eubank Jr. released from Matchroom contract

He signed a 2 fight contract in September. I guess they're going along with the Blackwell fight.

Not sure if this is shocking or just a temporary thing? Eubank/Matchroom seem like an ideal team. I'd like to see Chris go through with the Blackwell fight, but I have to wonder if maybe he'll be coming to the US?

He was going to have to travel for Jacobs anyway so fighting Blackwell and then Jacobs is better than fighting some awful eastern european "that's never been stopped" then Jacobs like he would of with matchroom.

Golden Boy and maybe even PBC should catch onto this kid.

The third fight was probably an option. It's good to see Eubank taking the fight and not hiding behind a TV contract. All fighters should have and out in their contract if they're subject to a purse bid.

He's not that good though, exciting for sure but not that good a boxer. He is only a big draw in the UK because of his name. He is a more dedicated version of Chavez jr.

Eubank already signed with Haymon. Around same time as he did with Hearn. I just wonder if they used this 'lost purse bid' as an out to get a better contract and don't plan on actually fighting Blackwell?

Lets be honest Blackwell is a step down for Eubank Jr after that fight, he needs to fight a top ten guy in the MD division.

Yep its going to be good to see him back on channel 5. Not an easy fight seeing as he has Jacobs lined up.

Is that how it works? If he's going to fight Blackwell, couldn't he have anyways and just been out of his contract afterwards? IDK, maybe he's saving money not paying Hearns. I just wonder if he's going to actually do the Blackwell fight. He's pulled out of that fight 2x now.
