Comments Thread For: Nicholas Walters Ready For Fresh Start at 130-Pounds

The last time Nicholas Walters was due to appear in the ring and on HBO was met with the letdown of having to concede his title at the scales. The unbeaten featherweight from Jamaica – who trains out of Panama – was a full pound over the division limit for his eventual 12-round non-title win over Miguel Marriaga this past June at Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City.

I really like Walters and I think he is better pound for pound than Crawford.

So he couldn't make weight because he was sick? He lost his title on the scales because of the flu, la grippe. He was sick of making 126.

            Smart Move

Walters is a damn good fighter. I was hoping Top Rank would but him and Loma against each other before he moved up in weight but Walters is just to big for featherweight.

With a impressive win I bet Bob Arum would see if Oscar would be willing to put Francisco Vargas in against Walters sometime in 2016.

Either way smart move by Walters to move up in weight. Hopefully HBO puts him in more than twice next year.

            Lets Go Axe Man!!!!

That is like the complete OPPOSITE of what happens when your sick. 99% of peopl when ever they're sick they can't eat and LOSE weight! Not gain it.
