Kessler would win.
Who would have won between prime Martinez and Kessler?

Martinez was not a small middleweight.
He was cutting hard to make 154...
Not sure why this is viewed as a "pound for pound" situation - they would have been within 10 pounds of each other on fight night.
Look - he weight almost 180 at 30 day

Cutting hard to make 154? In his last fight at 154, he was only 164.Martinez was not a small middleweight.

In that that second Pwill fight, he only 168.
He was even 165 for Barker.

And you have guys like Canelo and Trout doing 172+ on fight night at jr middleweight.Comment

Kessler. Chin, power, straight punches, very good fighter fundamentally. Martinez losing to Margarito early in his career would be like Kessler losing to Andrade early in his. And Andrade was a tall, powerful pressure fighter. Andrade alone would have derailed Martinez. Froch tosses prime Martinez around like a child, but Kessler tamed the beast and won a decision vs him too. Remember Martinez was getting busted up by Barker, Murray, got knocked down by Macklin, he won't last against Martinez, not even P4P. Kessler only down like once.Comment
