if this wasnt true, you will have k2 denying this, if you know how they work...
this is new information. And its great news if true.

But yes, my earlier point about canelo not willing to fight ggg in May at 155 or at ANY weight still stands. Golden Boy wanted an optional defense to help build the fight, and K2 did not object. The fight was NEVER on the table for May 7 at 155 or 156 or 157 or 158 or 159 or 160.

Not sure whats so hard about that to understand.

Hopefully, they'll agree to 160lbs, like it's suppose to be.

      Oh they won't.
Team Canelo will claim "A" side status, ginger-haired advantage, and women's viewing preference.

This is a sport of risk, you must risk something to get your reward and plenty of fighters Have had to eat shit as the B side and bow to demands and terms that aren't in their favor for their shot at that glory.

Pacquaio had to jump up 2 weigth classes to fight boxing superstar oscar de la hoya, you dont think he would had wanted that fight under better terms? OF COURSE but that oppurtunity showed it self and you take it in order to grab that glory, Pacquaio took that figth cause he believed he could win!

Mayweather jumped up 1 division and had to bow down to OScar many demands, You dont think he would had wanted that fight under better terms? OF COURSE but he took that fight cause he believed he could win and it was his shot.

Canelo cut 2lbs to get the Mayweather fights, You dont think he would have wanted that fight under better terms? OF COURSE but he took that fight cause he believed he could win.

and plenty of other figthers etc etc

Every boxer comes to a crossroad in their career where they must decide do I dare to be great or do I side step it and just continue to do what I do? Imagine if Mayweather never fought Oscar? Pacquaio never fought oscar they wouldent be these superstars they are today.

So that fight is there for GGG but does he believe he can win?
            Well said.

GGG and his ppl are acting like they can call shots over Canelo.

They better wake or GGG will be forgotten quicker than HBO hyped him up.

            At 33 clock is ticking.

When Pacquiao moved up to fight Oscar, no belts were at stake.

When Mayweather fought Oscar, it was at the full, LMW limit.

This is a fight for THE middleweight championship of the world and the premier mw, that's GGG, not Canelo, isn't allowed to weight in at his own division limit??? That's ridiculous and not only that, Canelo will take the lion's share of the purse and PPV revenue. No way.

GGG can continue being the best MW by beating legitimate MW contenders and other titlists, by the end of 2016 I expect him to have added the WBO strap and Canelo can continue defending that worthless WBC trinket.

All fights require negotiations, if Canelo called for a 50-50 split (PPV would probably still go largely to Canelo) then yes, I understand calling GGG down to a lower weight, something like 157 or 158, not this 155 nonsense.

Right now, the fight does nothing for GGG with everything in Nelo's favour. The ginger has to pick a division to fight at.

Why in the name of **** should GGG cave to Ginger on the weight?? GGG is at an ESTABLISHED weight division.... middleweight. The same hell Cotto got for catchweights now needs to rain down on Ginger's pretty little head. Except that in Ginger's case there's one small detail:

HE'S ALREADY THE SAME SIZE AS GGG!!

So quit the bellyaching and put up or shut up.
Anything less than 160 and Ginger's being a little b*tch.

jesus christ how ****** are you? We can all agree that GBP/Canelo are in the drivers seat regarding the negotiations, so if the fight didnt happen for May 7 its a pretty safe bet that its because GBP didnt want it to.

Jeez. We actually get some potentially positive news about the fight, and all you want to do is find something to whine about.

You must be alot of fun to hang out with. Or not.

ok went too far with STFU...
but last i heard canelo was willing to fight ggg next but at a low CW(155), GGG doesnt want 155 and thats on record, both agreed to move the fight to september and now is reported that there will be no weight issues for that date... with all those facts you can also believe that ggg opted for 160 in september instead of 155 in may... if canelo wanted no part of ggg at any weight then why wait until september then? they genuinely believed on canelo and didnt even ask for a contract or a step aside fee... if that wasnt the case you will already have loeffler crying about it...

my personal opinion, and I have not spoken to anyone at GBP about it yet, is that Oscar/Gomez knowing that Canelo-GGG is the biggest fight that can be made, wanted a little more time to build the fight, and a little more time to allow Canelo to better acclimate to facing bigger guys. Thats just my opinion. I do not believe GBP had any interest in doing the fight in May. If they did, and K2 refused, we would have heard about it, as GBP would have moved to have GGG stripped of the interim title.

As for getting rid of the catchweight, I hope this story is true. Getting that nonsense out of the way removes a HUGE potential issue in the coming negotiations in May. Then it will simply come down to money, and I have virtually no doubt they will be able to work that out......
