Saying he would have beaten him if he wasn't afraid of him is a pretty self defeating statement.

Lewis intimidated Bowe, and with Bowe's poor mental state, that would not have translated favorably into the ring.

Any way you look at it, the shame is on Bowe for not having the balls to take the fight. That's really the only thing that can be said on the matter.

hello? yes,,,bowe took the easy road. instead of fighting a guy who had a shot at beating him,,he took on guys who had zero chance. so this means if they fought,,that lewis would have beaten him? then I guess ,,,quarry would have beaten foreman? corrie sanders would have beaten lewis? aaron pryer would have beaten leonard? just becuase fighter A choses to avoid fighter B for easier opponents doesnt mean they'd lose to them. sure lewis may have caught bowe and knocked him out,,,but I think theres a better chance that bowe wears lewis out on the inside and takes him out. unfortunately,,we'll never know becuase bowe and rock newman were going with the bum of the month clubs

You're still not getting it.

its a shame lewis never fought a prime bowe. that would have helped settle who was better between him and holy. I stil feel a prime bowe would have beaten lewis. just too many combinations on the insidefrom bowe. lewis would have had big time trouble with bowe

The only shame, is that Bowe was afraid of Lewis. Lewis called for that fight for years, and never got it because Bowe was afraid.

So saying "IF Bowe wasn't afraid, he may have beatin Lewis" is pointless.

Bowe's problem was his weak mental state. That's why he was afraid of Lennox, and that's what prevented him from fufilling his potential.

So "if" he wasn't such a mentally weak individual in spots, he may have done a lot of things.
