But they always begin standing. Conor prefers to keep a fight standing. He's lost twice when a fight has gone to the ground. From his fighting style you can tell he is not confident in his ground game.

Sure, but usually gets there with a hard punch to the face or a tackle, and then ground and pound. Never seen a street fight end in an a submission so mma ground game in a street fight i just don't see making much of a difference.

My vote is whoever breaks a bottle on the other's face first, sadly that's not an option in the poll.

but fights dont stay in the beginning. it naturally develops fairly quickly.

i mean hypothetically if this scenario ever took place, one would think mcgregor would be smart enough to recognize floyd is the superior stand up fighter and take his chances by taking it to the ground.

mcgregor's ground game might not be elite but its better than floyds.

I think McGregor would do a Ronda Rousey and try to outbox the superior boxer. Rousey is way better on the ground than McGregor is and still she was ineffective. MCGregor said in an interview that he believes he could take Floyd in a boxing match which we both know is not true.

Big difference between the two. Lol Ronda is a Judo chick who thought she could outbox a Boxing based MMA fighter. Conor started out Boxing then got into grappling and other martial arts like Taekwondo. He's always been a lethal striker. In MMA.

McGregor would knock Floyd out standing up. He has trained years in striking with his legs. Floyd would not know what to do once he had kicks from all angles flying at his head and legs. He would be a fish out of water.

It's not fair to compare Rousey to McGregor. Rousey was dominating a sport of amatuers. The first true professional/champion fighter she faced was Holm. Also Holm kick boxed for years also.

Floyd won't even fight guys longer than him in the ring for a reason. His whole style, much like Conner's, is based on distance and having the reach advantage.

She actually thought she was good enough to stand against a boxing champion in Holm. When they fight again, she'll take Holm down and do her in a round. Same with McGregor vs Floyd although McGregor can actually strike but definitely has more variables than FMJ in a street fight.
Rousey might not be able to beat Holm. She does judo take downs, so she has to get into a clinch. When she was in a clinch against Holm, Holly handled her own pretty well. I think there's a pretty good chance Holm can imply the same strategy of moving and landing lefts.

Ronda had zero chance of beating Floyd in a street fight or any kind of fight. That was a fat 135 pound woman against a lean muscular 150 pound man. Conner is a different story. He is just as big and strong as Mayweather and a decent boxer in his own right. He can't beat Mayweather at strait up boxing but when you add in his kicks and ground fighting skills I would favor him to beat Mayweather. Mayweather would need to knock Conner out before Conner could take him to the ground. Conner takes a good punch and has a good enough defense against punches to keep Mayweather from knocking him out until he can take Mayweather to the ground where he is the master.

That is some of the worst shadow boxing I have ever seen. Ronda better stick to judo because she is just an awful boxer.
