It was a chess match but a bad one. A good tactical fight is one where all the manoeuvring leads to something. But in this fight it led to nothing most of the time.

Lee should have stepped it up sooner. Would have meant taking risks but the energy was leaving Billy's legs and there would have been opportunities to land the shots he needed. He won most of the late rounds, which is a bad sign for Billy Joe because Lee is no track star.

I think Chess would be cool, if your opponent makes a move on the board, then you punch him in the face.

Because Lee didn't lose too badly I could see him getting the Jacobs or Canelo fights. With Jacobs there is the LDB connection, with Canelo there is the fact that Lee was at 154 recently enough that he would accept a 155lb catchweight.

I don't think Saunders faces anyone top level next, maybe a Eubank Jr rematch at best.

I think you're right about Saunders. I don't know if Lee is marketable as a Canelo opponent coming off a loss.
