If it goes to purse bid and K2 i still think they agree on a CW. There's to much money to be made off this fight. I also don't think it'll make it to purse bid because Roc Nation has proved they'll pay a lot of money for a fight. Even a PBC promoter might show up and bid. Other than May/Pac II, this is the biggest fight out there right now. I don't think either side wants to risk a purse bid. They'll agree on a CW.

He has 11-12 months, at least.
Like you, I am surprised he did not ask for 2 fights.
Good point.
Maybe he did ask for 2 fights..... the WBC and K2 were obviously both pushing for that fight to happen immediately, maybe Team Canelo could only get them to agree on 1 tuneup?
Canelo's next opponent/weight, will determine how serious he is.Comment

You could be right man.
I have been taking Team Golovkin at their word.
They have vehemently refused a catchweight, on numerous occasions.
But it sounds like you could possibly be right.
If so, good for them.Comment

They gave Canelo a window to adapt to 160.
Thats all folks were asking.
Give him a catchweight NOW, or give him time to prepare for 160.
The ball is in Canelo's court..... he needs to make a decision.
Canelo's next opponent/weight, will determine how serious he is.
Team Golovkin agreeing to this, shows how serious they were about Ward
Kovalev risked NOTHING in taking the Ward deal. If the fight happens, fine. If it doesnt happen, fine. He's still in his same division in the same position. He loses nothing. Same as with this GGG-canelo deal.
But the GGG-Ward thing would have involved GGG giving up his 160 unification plans, likely getting stripped of the IBF and WBA belts, and all for what? A guy who cant sell 50 tickets?
The 2 scenarios are nothing alike, and you know it. Quit trolling......Last edited by OnePunch; 12-14-2015, 08:00 PM.Comment

You didn't read the articles? The agreement is to take one fight each then fight each other. Obviously if at that point Canelo is saying no, GGG has to move on and forget about it. He's not in a position to force a fight immediately unfortunately, thus my "it's better than nothing" comment.Comment
