Enzo was a former cruiserweight champion so it isn't like he'd never competed at a high level before. I thought the writer trashed Enzo somewhat here.

Roy's career was over and complete once he won the heavyweight title. I was hoping then that he'd retire on top and as one of the greatest ever. As a big fan and a Pensacola native....I can't watch him fight anymore.

Excellent piece. Most important point being the comparison between Roy, Hopkins and Foreman. As long as his yes men can still milk some money off him he'll always "have one more fight left in him". Reminds me of Requim for a Heavyweight with Anthony Quinn.

It would have been perfect if Roy had gone out after the first Tarver fight, the writing was on the wall then, it was over. He was 49-1 and he could have riden off into the sunset at 36 years old with his legacy in place. Now at nearly 47 he is 62-9, 62-9!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh Roy

Roy needs to set aside his pride and stop boxing, period. He can commentate on HBO, or he can get into training the young guys. To keep fighting overseas (or anywhere) is pitiful. He's being exploited for his name's ability to draw crowds. Enough is enough Roy, you're killing yourself.

Now Enzo can say he defeated a Hall of Fame boxer and multiple World Champ but ii only means something if you don't know **** about boxing.

Im surprised Roy didn't get killed in that fight. Dude was slumped on the ropes and Lebedev took 3 or 4 clean and very hard shots. When Roy fell I was convinced he wasn't going to wake. That's KO was very scary. And if he didn't retire then he wont retire now. Fu cking sad.

TBH I don't think Roy is going to hang up the gloves just. Which I very sad for him and his health.

In a very weird way I truly believe Roy loves he sensation of being knocked out. I think he gets something out of it as weird as that sounds. I was thinking maybe this is his way of committing suicide but I don't think he is suicidal as he is just a strange guy that loves getting knocked out. He gets off on it. He didn't look all that sad or concerned when he woke up last satuday.

I think the only way Roy stops fighting is if he is forced to stop, which wont happen if he keeps fighting in Russia.
