Business trumps what the consumer wants to see... basically saying fuck the fans.

I thought their business is showing the fans the fights fans want to see, but Danny is saying sorry.... we can't show you what you want to see, we need to grow our business by showing you something you don't want to see

fans who make losing too big of a deal made his kind of talk popular imo

if u lose once no one will buy you as a ppv opponent or headliner..everyone calls u a bum...even after u win another big fight they go back and talk about your loss even if u improve..

almost cant blame the fighter for not want to take test when the can make millions fightin almost guaranteed wins
STOP BEING SO CASUAL AS A FAN AND THIS MIGHT STOP..
hell if u have one bad day at work your checks dont change so who are you to judge..

on the ohter hand fighters like thruman porter garcia spence brook khan..they could all fight each other 2 times this year and it wouldnt make boxing more popular...so its a sad time to be in the sport of boxing it seems ..only the hardcore and same casuals would catch it...arent enough of us to make a demand
haymon tried but i dont pbc going far even if they make the best matchups..

it is more to it i almost sympathize with these guys..if they lose 1 fight they get called bums and ppl never want to see them again.. this isnt a lebron nba type game where u can lose the finals 4 times and still get a lifetime nike deal..see how it really isnt fair for them

There was a time when a fighter could lose their 0 and the fans and sport wouldn't chastise them.

The dynamic has changed over the years now where people are more concerned about keeping their 0...

And just like any other sport, there's goods and bads. The NBA is also a sport where they can't choose to play against a D-league team for a portion of the NBA title multiple times and get paid millions to do it

so u agree..but cant do anything about it either..boxing is slowing dying and then at times it has it revives, but we support a ****ty sport right now..and a lot of it is due to how fans lust over the 0's an how they love to protect their fighters...the same fans i'm talkin about with blame it on mayweather jr..but the truth is he tested his 0 early and often imo...i hope boxing finds its way, but without them takin paycuts, which none of us would do, we arent seeing big fights unless we pay for them..ITS PRETTY SIMPLE

The remedy is not opening the wound and taking a massive dump in it then finishing it off with a piss.

If fans are the lifesblood, this is essentially what they're doing and what Danny is saying

This big fight mentality is getting out of hand too. You got nobodies asking for Pac/May level money for fights and being overpaid, making them think they're work a lot more than they're worth.

You have Omar Figueroa getting paid 750k and a card most likely in the 2M range for purses that couldn't draw flies to shit... they couldn't even give away free tickets to it....the sport is slowly dying, but these guys are making sure she stays dead

Yeah the difference is though Haymon has a massive stable especially, for example, at Welterweight and 154.

He could just force all his top guys to fight each other. Everyone would probably take some losses but fans would stop worshipping the undefeated record because no one would have one.

And they don't need to take paycuts. Haymon has already paid most of his guys so much money that they are locked under contract for years now because theyve already hit earnings benchmarks. He could make his guys fight tough fights tomorrow for the same money he gives them to fight bums right now -- and if they said no, Haymon could just say, "OK stay on the shelf till you get with my program then"

I don't want fighters to get screwed obviously but too many guys want zero-risk mega-paydays these days and don't want to fight any real competition EVER.

I secretly love the way Bob Arum doesn't take any ****. Mikey Garcia was gonna get over $1 million to fight Gamboa (who he would've destroyed) and Chavez Jr. was going to get $8 million (minimum) to fight Triple G.

That's MORE THAN FAIR wages. But both those little b*tches got greedy so Bob put them on the shelf for a LONG time and ruined their careers, a fate they both deserved.

If Haymon gave two ****s about giving the fans the fights they want, he'd force these fights whether his guys wanted them or not. But his goal isn't to please the fans, it's to get every elite talent in the sport to say, "**** I gotta go sign with Haymon I can make big bucks for knocking over low grade opposition" in an attempt to create a monopoly in the sport.
