Sonny Banks (10-2) Henry Cooper (27-8-1) both had Ali down and rocked....

...before he became champion and he became considered the greatest heavyweight of all time.

I keep seeing when a heavyweight gets rocked while they are still learning a lot of fans write them off.

It happened when Fury got floored in two different fights but he went on to school Wladinir Klitschko.

It's now happening with Anthony Joshua because he was rocked against a solid undefeated contender in a fight which he came back and won in emphatic style.

        Yep.

Any wobble and it seems that's it.

That fight is the best learning experience that Joshua will get.

Yea its sorta hilarious how quick boxing fans today love to write guys off as bums or hype jobs.

And maybe the funniest part about this line of thought is that most people today woulda been ****ting on Ali back than as a scared runner cuz he ran around the ring like no one has ever ran around the ring & they'd call him an idiot cuz he was calling himself the greatest while getting floored by Banks making Fury seem like a reasonable fellow with his predictions & claims.

That's a bit harsh. Dillian Whyte is a good fighter and I think he can come back from that loss.

It's 2015, people overreact to anything these days and boxing is no different. Everything is taken to the extreme now. If you lose you're a bum, if you get knocked down you have a glass chin. It's nonsense.

A loss to a good fighter is no big deal, someone has to lose. Being knocked down in part of the game. A guy like Tyson Fury doesn't have a glass chin at all just because he's been down a couple of times. These are big guys, even a guy like Cunningham will still be carrying some force behind a punch, if he hits you right then you might go over. It's getting back up that matters. The best fighters in history have been put down.

Joshua WILL get put down sometime and hurt badly like others have, even the greats. He's just a man in there with other big men. It's what happens after that is what will matter.

The reason people jump on it now though is because of media hype and the likes of Sky feeding a false illusion that he's invincible, unstoppable and the future of heavyweight boxing which is just ridiculous to say at this point. But you hype a guy in that manner and he shows he's not exactly what they market him as, then people are going to jump on it.

Him getting rocked is nothing. It happens to all heavyweights. What I saw was a shaky defense, that he needs to tighten. He leaves his chin up too much. Tuck that thing down.
