I hate to sound like a buzz killer BUT it's pretty clear that Errol's natural weight class is 154.. i can't help but wonder if he'd be the same fighting at junior middleweight instead of pounding welterweights...

Very few fighters fight at their natural weight.

Jacobs and Quillin are big MW. Walk into the ring 5 pounds more than many other top MW.

Lara, Andrade, Charlo, all walk into the ring at JRMW weighing as much as GGG does at MW.

So Spence may be a bigger WW, but if we judge him on this, then we judge everyone else.

What true JRMW the size of spence can beat him? I'm not sure because we don't know really.

And now we have guys like Canelo too heavy for 154, sitting at 155.

      It's all jacked up.

Just because he didn't get the fight it doesn't mean he ducked. Haymon has a lot of prospects looking for step up fights, including Vasquez who got the Martinez fight. You can't please everyone. I'm sure 2016 will be a big year for Spence, he's gonna get that IBF title shot.
How far is he from an IBF title shot? I doubt he will get it any time soon. Maybe like in 2 years if he is lucky.

He will get the shot sometime next year. I'm guessing his next fight will be a final eliminator.

it seems like the good pbc fighters haymon has at 147 only fight guys on the slide like guerrero and alexander or complete no names. why aren't we seeing spence vs khan? spence vs thurman? spence vs porter? spence vs garcia? or any combo of those fights?

100% he cant just get the very top no matter how bad us fans or him wants it or how much we all believe he can beat them, he has to go through the motions and thsoe names are perfect stepping stones matches, Names but you can beat them where Algeri would be the toughest name out of the bunch.

Imagine if Spence in 2016 runs through all 5 of those names he will pretty much be guaranteed for a huge fight in 2017 and stardom if he wins.

Boxers today needs to stop worrying too much about where they want to be but more on the road itself that will get them their.

Trust me, those fights will happen sooner than you think. Al Haymon ain't no fool. He might have his fighters take 1 or 2 "easy" fights in btw the great matchups but he still delivers.

Just this year he gave us Mayweather/#49, Mares/Santa Cruz, Quillin/Jacobs, Garcia/Peterson, Wilder/Stiverne, Broner/Porter etc BUT you guys like to act as if those fights i just mentioned either didn't happen or wherent good enough and that right there is pure fckery.

2016 is going to be an even bigger year for Haymon's stable, just watch.

1 or 2? spence just fought lo greco, van heerden, and barrera. that's 3. you love those bums fights don't you. garcia vs guerrero when so many other good fights are right there for the taking. pointless. these guys don't even do good numbers that's why its so frustrating. they had to give away thousands of tickets to quillin-jacobs just like every pbc fight. that was supposed to be one of their better matchups and still no one came. he can't even use the well they are big draws so we are raking in the money off of them. he's protecting guys that can't draw. he's giving certain guys special treatment because he wants them to be draws. but they aren't. frustrating.

For good fighters with good ability it sucks at times, Errol is no hype job, this dude is foreal imho. He will outgrow the WW division, but I still see him doing good things at 154 as well.

I just hope that some names at 147 are going to be willing to fight him next year. Most won't, they know about Errol and he can stop their momentum with just one fight. Out of all the PBC guys at 147, the only names I can think that may take that fight next year are Algieri, and possibly Porter, but Porter's tryna get back on top as well with a Thurman fight, so who knows.

I'm just hoping we see Errol's true ability in the ring this upcoming year against a great fighter.

Thats pretty much everyone. Few fighters fight in their natural weight class.

And Errol is 5'9 1/2 that is actually not huge for a welter.
