Italian bantamweight Giodi Scala (9-1) retained the EU title last night in Isola Liri (Italy) with a close, majority decision over French challenger Hassan Azaouagh (18-11). After twelve it was scored 115-113 twice and 115-115. This was a voluntary defence by the champion.
