On Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, Chris Eubank Jr. (21-1, 16KOs) battered domestic rival Spike O'Sullivan for a seventh round TKO victory in a WBA final middleweight eliminator.

The victory makes Eubank the mandatory challenger to WBA "regular" middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (31-1, 28KOs), who last week retained his title with a first round stoppage of unbeaten Peter Quillin.

I like that Hearn wants to get Eubank more fights first. At the press conference Eubank said he'd like to go for the UK title against Blackwell (good fight), but that if mandated to fight Jacobs he'd go that route first.

Hearn might have better luck than Jacobs' last mandatory - Dmitry Chudinov. Chudinov's promoter said Haymon wouldn't even return their calls...

I like the idea of a Eubank-Blackwell fight too. Blackwell is tough as hell and sets a furious pace. A bit like Eubank, actually.
