Comments Thread For: Yunier Dorticos Wins, Targets Lebedev and Shumenov

Winston Salem, North Carolina - WBA #2 ranked cruiserweight knockout artist Yunier "The KO Doctor" Dorticos (20-0, 19 KOs) kept his undefeated undefeated record intact by stopping Fulgencio Zuniga (27-12-1, 24 KOs) in the second round of his stay busy bout.

After the fight Dorticos said," I'm coming after WBA cruiserweight world champ Denis Lebedev and interim champion Beibut Shumenov. My time is now and Shumenov got lucky and fought BJ Flores instead of me.

Dorticos is an intriguing cruiserweight. Seems to sit down on his punches more than some of the other Cuban boxers.

Dorticos and barrera have been getting a l8t of ko's against lesser opposition, they've been entertaining and have been scaling up in their divisions, love to see them again better fighters.

It's easy to look good against weak opposition. I'm looking forward to seeing Dorticos versus better fighters myself. I hope he retains the hype. Barrera beat a solid fighter in Murat Saturday night. Stoppage was questionable, but still. Interesting how some of the unheralded Cuban fighters are now making names for themselves, guys like Barthélemy and the two guys we mentioned. There are at least half-a-dozen potential champions that might defect in the future, guys fighting in the WSB. Fingers crossed.
