Turd. This is what happens when you get fat between every fight then lose weight too fast for a fight. Gotta STAY in shape. That's the ONE thing Fraud Pedcheater Jr shouldve taught people.

      That's good!

In fact Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, Larry Holmes and so on, NEVER WON against an opponent as big and with as good a record as Travis Kauffman.

      Perspective matters.

If Deontay Wilder, who is a so called HW champion took on Travis Kaufmann and WON, it would be rivalling Stiverne as the best opponent he had ever faced!
fat people suck at boxing. did you even watch the fight? that's like saying usain bolt never beat someone who was 350 pounds. yea no sh-it because they wouldn't be any good at running a race. just like fat people aren't any good at boxing.

Except for a sprinter like Bolt, being fat is evidence-wise extremely detrimental to his performance as a runner.

However in the case of Kauffman and Arreola, as HW boxers, being fat has NO effective bearing on their TOTAL performance as HW boxers. And in fact, from a purely STATISTICAL perspective, there is an ADVANTAGE fro coming in "somewhat chubby" like Arreola and Kaufmann (but not obese).

I say "TOTAL" performance above because being fat conveys weight without strength (but still conveys similar "power" for several reasons).

Apart from that, the same detrimental aspects of fat are indistinguishable from muscle "weight" too. In fact, fat is SUPERIOR to muscle scientifically as far as weight goes in boxing for a few reasons..

FAT weight slows a boxer down. But it slows a boxer down LESS than the same amount of MUSCLE weight. This is because- even in a periodised program of strength training which negates the neural negative pathways that slow you down anyway, the muscle weight is distributed more in the arms than around the waist for example. The reason fat is deposited around the waist in the first place is because this is the place weight LEAST affects mobility. Which is why chubby boxers are faster than muscle bound boxers of a similar size.

FAT weight can reduce stamina, but NOT so much as muscle weight does. This one runs counter-intuitive to MANY people and PT's everywhere will baulk at first. But the science is definite behind it and a moment of thought will lead to its acceptance. Because muscle requires massively more oxygen than fat does and leads to exhaustion far more quickly than fat does. This is WHY you rarely see fat boxers gas and OFTEN see muscular ones gas!

Basically your "theory Daggum is disproven by ...

        - the science just provided
        - the observations which can be made between fat and lean boxers of similar weight which I outlined
        - And lastly (and the MOST condemning in reality), the statistical fact that at HW, FAT has always been an advantage to performance.

I don't agree with being a fat ass for not training properly and I will never condone Arreola's type of behaviour in this regard.

But when we talk about fat, I'm talking about FAT PROFESSIONAL BOXERS, not random fat asses!!

I'm talking about otherwise TRAINED and CONDITIONED fatties, NOT couch potatoes!

        Obviously!

Yes conditioned athletes with a high body fat ratio, similar to a weekend warriors.

If you notice that Klitschko and Fury are more big boned than muscular at 245+. If either guy were 6' 2" or so they both probably would be cruiserweights.

            An interesting aside..

I think it's only because of few of the very recent champs like Mike Tyson and Wlad Klitschko and Holyfield and Haye had bodybuilder like bodies that this has been interpreted as the norm at HW.

Reality is that HW is an unlimited division and the logic goes like this...

If the fat HAMPERS the boxers performance, it was bad,

If it doesn't, then it's GOOD!

            Simple.

Wasn't following it closely enough to score but the ref should have called a knockdown in round 12, his glove hit the canvass.

If he is going to continue there is no point coming in under 250. Guys like him & Chisora are better fighting at 250-260 because they can absorb more. The weight loss doesn't make them any faster & it has clearly not helped either of them. They can't absorb the big shots as well. I always think of Rahman in his Tua rematch. He came in at 260 & said before the fight he wanted to add weight so he could take Tua's power better. He threw 80 punches & went the distance. The bulk helped him take some big hooks. I heard Sugar Ray & the commentators talk about Arreola's punch resistance after the weight loss & Nazeem Richardson spoke of it too...
Yes, some fighters are not better if they come in lighter, Arreola is one of them. His punch resistance and power went downhill.
Only fighters with good skills and footwork better come in light as possible so they can use it as well as possible.

Chris Tit probably just earned himself a title shot against Fyson Turdy with this showing. There must be a reason Turdy is ducking everyone, knowing Wladi***** wont fight for at least a year.
