Amir Khan and Bob Arum both celebrated birthdays on Tuesday. Bolton’s former light-welter champ turned 29 and Uncle Bob is still in there punching as pugnaciously as ever as one of the world’ great promoters at 84.

However I doubt they exchanged birthday greetings.

Khan is more than a little peeved that he looks like being elbowed out of a hoped-for spring date with Bob’s main man Manny Pacquiao, his old stablemate, while Uncle Bob himself wasn’t best pleased that Amir’s people erroneously jumped the gun by telling the media that contracts had been agreed.

khan is a joke and hasnt had a title in 3 year going on 4...

but with that being said he has the best 147 lb resume of the pbc guys bc thruman wants to go and figh the collazo's after khan beat him and duck the porters...

khan has devon and algeiri..that is better than porter who only has brook at 147 and surely better than thruman only having ghost...

pbc is good for boxing but it is time to make the bigger fights..fans have to quit hating first tho

Ha when I read the title I was expecting a standard Warren article where he is piggybacking publicity from a big name or upcoming event to promote one of his guys. Which he is, but actually his idea isn't as ****** as all that.

Khan'd be a big favourite against the winner of that fight and it's an opportunity to pick up a belt at 154, even if he only wants to stay for 1 fight. It would keep him busy until he realises what everybody else did ages ago that Kell Brook is his best opportunity for a big payday. Whether boxnation can afford a Khan purse is another matter.

I'm so sick and tired of watching guys around the division get fights, fight frequently, and this transgender looking Khan can't step up, back up his talk, and beat ANY of the better fighters at 147:

Brook
Porter
Bradley
Provodnikov
Spence

Hell, show us you can even beat a Terrence Crawford! All this fraud is trying to do is sell himself on what he did at 140, 5 years ago when he got knocked out by Swift, Prescott, and beaten by Peterson! WBC hands him a #1 Ranking then at 147, and he hasn't done jack since arriving! All he does is stand next to his uncle and shout tough talk at Floyd & Manny begging for a lottery ticket payday, and both recognized this fool deserves none of it; go beat a top contender and prove you're deserving.

I don't even want to see a Swift rematch, cause DSG is a puffed up 140lber, being strategically placed/protected to beat some washed up "name" 147lbers (Mags, Guerrero), to position him, minus the risk, for a big payday somewhere. Grow a set, fight the best, beat the best, then talk **** all you want. Aligning Khan with the winner between a couple tomato cans for a make-believe belt, is matchmaking malpractice!
