When Roy got knocked out by Tarvar and than Johnson, the idea that he would still be fighting today would be unfathomable.

It's sad reading the article and talking About how much $ he could of made fighting Tyson. As if he didn't make a ton of money anyone. Dude was just bad with money, wouldn't of mattered how much he made.

Roy invested every dollar he had in real estate, and when the market crashed, he lost it all.

A lot of milllionaires in Florida went broke overnight, Roy was one of them.

The tarver kayo had me in disbelief, after the Johnson ko and watching him just lay on the ropes and get pounded really affected me as a boxing fan.

I was coming home to visit the weekend from college and my mom and step dad was like your boy Roy is fighting tonight.

I was thinking he was gonna UD Johnson easy but I realized Jones lost what made him great.

He lost his unshakable self belief and fearlessness of punching with opponents and countering.

It was like the Ali fans watching Holmes pound on Ali for me....I saw the fight live and Im man enough to admit I thought Jones was seriously hurt and shed a tear

Boxing is a little more intimate than Basketball, Soccer etc....you play those sports, you don't play boxing and it hurt watching my childhood hero take the pounding he did from the first TARVER FIGHT-Johnson fight

Yep me and all my friends were huge Roy fans.

I remember sitting at my friends house and Glen Johnson comes out like a man on fire in the first rnd. Showed Roy no respect, and was all over him.

We all figured he Would burn out soon. The bastard keep going though, rnd after rnd, was all over Roy. We all figured Roy was just waiting for his moment. But he wasn't, he had nothing left.

Moving up and down in weight destroyed his body, he pushed his CNS to the point of no return.

I don't even think he was physically done, it was more mental

He feared getting caught while throwing. He just layed on the ropes with his hands up and wouldn't let them go

I was screaming at the T.V come on Roy, what are you waiting for....he just looked happy to survive to see the final bell....too bad he got caught and his head hit that canavas so hard I walked out my moms house and I didn't watch boxing or go on ********boxing.com for months. I stopped my ring magazine subscription and Maxboxing membership.....haven't felt that bad before or since. It made me realize no fighter is invincible and should know their bodies limits, no matter how great you are/ were.

The weight jump affected him but look at Roy when he was confident in round 4-5 in Tarver 3 and how he performed vs Trinidad and Lacy....we saw the triple and quadruple left hooks, dancing, using his legs etc.....once he lost his confidence it was over and that was his edge
