Comments Thread For: Promoter Wants Demetrius Andrade Back in Early 2016

2015 was not a good year for Demetrius Andrade. His extended inactivity — 16 months out of the ring — left him stripped of his junior middleweight world title. The relationships he’d strained with his promoters after turning down fights needed to be rebuilt. He’ll need to convince networks to feature him once again.

That’s why Joe DeGuardia, whose Star Boxing promotes Andrade alongside Banner Promotions, is hoping to get Andrade back in the first couple months of 2016.

His problem is he burned a lot of bridges in the last year. He upset haymon when he backed out that fight. Haymon doesn't forget things like that. So I doubt he lets any of his fighters face boo boo. He screwed over Showtime and Haymon has PBC. And he is now suing Roc Nation. If you look at 154 the biggest name is Cotto but he's with Roc Nation so scratch him off the list. Haymon has Lara and Charlo as belt holders you can scratch them off the list. I think his best shot for a big money fights is to move up to 160 and try and work out a deal with HBO to get him on TV.

Once he won that belt his ego went out of control. He all of the sudden wanted giant purses.

So many of these guys think winning a strap makes you a star. A star is someone who fills arenas and who makes people tune in. That takes time and hard work, not sitting back and making demands.

Pelullo partially disputed Paul Andrade’s account, saying that the boxer, through his manager, Ed Farris, was offered an amount higher than $250,000. Showtime offered Andrade $500,000, according to a source familiar with the purse numbers.
He want Conor McGregor money but he doesn't bring in Conor McGregor crowds , That the problem with most of today boxers most are overpaid
