We see boxers like Brook avoiding many fighters such as Alexander, Chaves, Bradley, Thurman and Rios, even pulling out of fights routinely after getting last-minute nerves. Brook is like the openly-gay boxer Orlando Cruz in that respect as Cruz went on a streak of avoiding fighters after he lost to Ponce De Leon in 2010. It's fair to say that boxers like Brook and Cruz are cut from the same cloth while boxers like Hopkins and Khan are in a separate legendary league of their own.

But besides B-Hop and Khan, are there any other throwback greats left in the sport or they the last remaining throwbacks that the sport will ever witness?

    Malignaggi - can't punch
    Kotelnik- average fighter
    Barrera -75 years old
Judah- 5 years after floyd beat him which means zab was shot
    Maidana- good win
    Peterson- life and death
Diaz- why was he fighting Diaz anyway
    Collazo- washed fighter
Algeri- coming off of a loss where he got dropped 6 times
    Mcloskey - who?
Molina- that's when we found out there were 2 carlos molina
    Garcia - knocked khan out

Khan has the best resume in boxing. He is a real throwback fighter.

    He only fights the elite.

Gotta go with Dirk! Fury unlike Khan, never got put out by a club fighter in Prescott. Probably the most embarresing loss in recent times.

And to throw Hopkins and Khan in the same sentence should be considered a cardinal sin... To even have Khan in the same thought in the same week as BHop is down right disrespectful

If you know the details behind that Prescott loss it explains things. Khan switched to a brand new trainer just for that one fight. That trainer picked Prescott as an opponent because he had a grudge against him since Prescott had KOd some of his other fighters before. He told Khan to try to KO him in the first round when at the time Prescott had like a 98% KO ratio. Great gameplan, right?

If everyone Prescott fought tried to do that, he would be unbeaten to this day because the guy has freakish power early on in a fight. To make matters worse, Khan was severely weight-drained in that fight, he looked very weak before the fight began, like a bag of bones really.

But lets put things in perspective further. Lots of good fighters got KOd earlier on in their career. Pacquiao himself got KOd by Torrecampo for example, a guy with a 28% KO ratio!

As far as B-Hop and Khan, these two guys try to fight the best fighters out there, just like the old throwback greats did. They are cut from the same cloth, there's no two ways about it.

Since absolutely obliterating Khan in 57 seconds, Prescott went on to lose 7 of his next 14 fights. Half.

He has scored 2 stoppages since smashing Khan up. One against a guy with a record of 0-7-1

OP should be publicly caned for mentioning the great Bhop in the same headline as Con.

For the crime of equating the two?

What does Sharia law have to say about blasphemy?

Why do I picture Flatline and Dirk being 2 British brothers who just fight each other all the time in the backyard... One likes ManU the other Liverpool. One loves Khan the other Brook and they just beat each other's azzes non stop..
