Fighters get black eyes in sparring with headgear on... It happens. A welt or black eye does not always imply a fighter lost. Cotto's face has been quick to welt etc ever since Plastergate.

Thanks for the lesson, I have never seen sparring so I wouldn't know.

The fight was in mid Nov and this was Dec and his eye was still black. I'm sure it wasn't from sparring AFTER a fight he had just recently.

Today is the 10th, tomorrow is the dead line. Have not heard a word from GBP, WBC, or GGG's people. If they do a double header, it could possibly be GGG vs Lee/Saunders wish for jacobs, and the main event a Cotto vs Canelo rematch. Would prefer to see Cotto move down and take out Khan or Bradley. One can also hope for a falling out between Roach and Pac, so we can finally get that rematch lol. I really don't want to see a double header, everyone is ready for GGG vs Canelo.

That was the point of my post, refer to the last sentence. There are exciting fights for Cotto if he moves down, especially if he goes back to welterweight like Roach wants him too. 150-152 catch weights against some bigger welterweights, like Thurman, Khan, Garcia, Porter, are also possible, being that Cotto has been weighing in comfortably at 153. Arum has been trying to do Cotto vs Bradley since 2012, definitely possible.
