baldomir was unbeaten in eight years son and the only reason he had that many losses was because he started boxing late and didn't have an amateur career as a result. He basically had to learn on the job hence why he had those losses early in his career.

But once he learned everything he needed to learn he went on an eight year unbeaten run and defeated the reigning undesputed champ at welterweight at the time (zab judah).

Mayweather had already agreed to fight the undesputed champ zab but zab took decided to fight baldomir before he fights floyd. So when zab unexpectedly lost floyd decided to fight both of em in order to prove that he is the king pin in the division.

Floyd would have been undisputed champ had baldomir paid the sanctioning fees for the zab judah belts. In any case he became lineal after fighting baldomir.
