  • Is Gennady "GGG" Golovkin good for the sport

GGG gets a lot of hate and a lot of love from a lot of fans... but the question is he good for the sport of boxing or is he bad for boxing. Not every fighter or every fight are good for boxing, for example Mayweather vs. Paquio i truly feel was bad for boxing, the amount of hype it had was insane but when the fight actually happened it didn't deliver at all. I feel that certain fighters are bad for boxing like Wlad klitschko, god bless his heart, great champion as far as accomplishments and his actions outside the ring go but inside the ring he was very boring, some of his fights were almost un-watchable.

So hate him or love him, are you happy that he exists and fights in our Era?

Golovkin brings a lot of excitement to the sport since he usually get the KO which most fans, hardcore or casual, can appreciate. He also employs a lot of skill and it's a lot of fun to watch him work, cutting off the ring and positioning himself to the best advantages over his opponents. Many complain about his opposition, but he's got Canelo, Jacobs and maybe Lara right around the corner. So big things should be happening soon with that as well. He does need a major PPV opponent to sell a PPV and Canelo can provide that. I think GGG only helps the sport.

He is great for the sport. I can't think of anything about him that would be bad for the sport. The people that hate him are idiots. He fights 4 times a year against the best fighters willing to fight him when most top boxers only fight twice a year these days. He has 22 KOs in a row. He is classy in and out of the ring and not another trash talker that boxing already has too many of.

Ggg is not good for boxing! He's knocking out too many opponents. It's too brutal, it turns people off away from boxing. Clinching, holding n dancers like mayweather n rigo are better for the sport. They make boxers look like ballerinas n oh so friendly too. N ggg isn't good for the sport cuz he doesn't hype up or talk sht at all. He needs to promise the world good knockouts n degrade other people. It's not good he doesn't do that! He should not unify, let other boxers keep a belt man don't b so greedy! Oh n ggg hog the camera n schedule too much. It's not good he's fighting 3, 4 times a year. People r tired of seeing him. He should take andre wards motto n fight every 3, 4 years. That way a fighter is more scarce! Oh n no apple commercial , that's a big no no. More importantly, if ggg had been black he would b better for the sport...

He is fine and the issues that people bring up about him don't have all that much to do with him directly. He is not really in a position to dictate to HBO and HBO has competition which neither side wants to work with or help the other in the slightest.

He does get people talking though and his current position puts him right at the leading edge of this issue. So that is positive.

no one actually thinks hes bad for the sport, its just his fanatics that want people to think the amount of hate he receives is broner/floyd level so they can cast him as a victim
