Comments Thread For: George Groves Set To Name Shane McGuigan as Trainer

Shane McGuigan is set to be named as the new trainer of George Groves.

Boxing Scene’s UK News Editor Shaun Brown reported last week that Groves, a former three-time world title challenger, was still trialling coaching candidates, but we now understand that the man who trains IBF super bantamweight champ Carl Frampton will take over the day-to-day training of the 27-year-old (21-3, 16 KOs).

Wonder why Haye and Groves both left Booth within a short space of time, and now they've both ended up in the same place with a new trainer once again. Obviously can't be a coincidence they must have been discussing this stuff in the background.

Booth and Haye were business partners, i am guessing it was something to do with money

Groves and Booth was also a money issue

Booth seems a bit dodgy tbh

I think Booth dropped groves but no reason was ever given.
Not sure what the deal was with Haye though.

I heard Booth wanted to be Groves manager

If you look at Booths face, you can tell he's a major ****...

                    Just following David Haye around.

Shane McGuigan is very unproven, isn't he? His biggest claim to fame is Frampton and that's about it.
