None of these organizations have legitimacy to people who know who the best fighters are. Much as they try to create legitimacy. The capacity of these organizations to judge talent with no ulterior motives is about on a par with Zellenoff.
My cousin Raul, who boxes, wants to fight Fury for the AGPB, All Gay Pride Belt.
He wants to take the skins off and go all in on a fury showdown.

Raul demands the showdown & a clause for lots of rematches if he enjoys it.

    Ay dios mio!

Most of the time the weight divisions are pretty easy to work out whos the main champions or the top guy, however there is some debate when two boxers pending a fight together. Im aware lightweight, featherweight/ superfeather are quite toss em up champions currently where at least 3 belts are held by credible fighters.

        Super bantamweight - rigondeux
        Light welter - crawford
        Welter - was may/pac
Light middle - was mayweather now e.lara lol
        Middle - ggg
        Super middle - andre ward
        Lightheavy - stevenson/kolarev
Heavyweight - was klitschko (now fury).

This is my opinion on the 'the champ' status in respective divisions. Other people may disagree, but i think majority fans will 80-90% agree

          Why? Because you say so?

How can someone be the champion of the entire "heavyweight division" when the world's best heavyweights fight for four different organizations and none of those organizations agree on who the world champion is?
Damn this has got to be a joke

As for the IBF, what choice did they have? The rules are the rules. Obviously they would have made a lot more money allowing Fury to remain champion. They should be applauded for their integrity.

            Billeau -

Is Charlie Zellenoff one of the world's best heavyweights? Are you one of the world's best heavyweights?

The world's best heavyweights compete for the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO and none of those organizations agree on who the world champion is. So how could someone be the champion of the entire heavyweight division when the best heavyweights aren't competing for the same organization?

A few boxing nerds can whine, cry and moan all they want about how the organizations aren't legitimate, but they run the sport and the fighters, promoters and TV networks choose to allow them to run the sport.

            Dirk -

If you choose to recognize him as the lineal champion, I won't stop you, but that is a mythical championship.
WBA, IBF, WBO agreed that Fury was the world champion one week ago.

Well i disagree, ibf should of made prior contact with both klitchscko and fury camps and declared the belt vacant then. Because they should of known or sought to know if there was a rematch clause within the fight contracts. Because inevitably it would only embarrass the ibf to go and declare a stripped vacant title within days of a new champion for the first time in like 10 years.

To push a fight to purse bids two days after the fight is rediculous and duva knows that a strip would happen as a rematch was pending hence they opted to divert from wbc strap (lies and deliberate working from duva to fold the wilder fight im expecting). Just to win a now meaningless title. I will for one no longer be recognising the ibf heavyweight title as a belt untill either fury or wilder hold that strap. (Watch the hayes/ joshua flocking over to the ibf sanctioning lmao). .

                This is true..

In fact Tyson Fury is now in a position to make one of the most historic and impressive stands in boxing history..

To trash can all his remaining belts!!!

Any other boxers squabbling over them would be held in irrelevance and everybody would know who the champ is.

The stunt might force the sanctioning bodies to keep it realistic.

OR even more hopefully totally abolish them all altogether..

The current system of sanctioning bodies are a relic from olden days eras of boxing..

It now needs to be "updated" to current conditions (tourney style).

It depends if he carries on winning. Fury is "the man" in the eyes of the fans and will be until he loses/retires.

Saint laurent i meant i would fail to recognise the ibf heavyweight title if it was held by a champion such as glazkov in these circumstances. I dont disagree with your statement on wba, i think a super champion and regular and a interim champion is a joke too. Who here can say they recognise scott quigg as a world champion. Rigondeux is that guy.

Im saying from the worlds sporting/boxing fans prospective the fact ibf is having to take this route does not look good for this organisation. From one of the most eagerly anticipated fights in the world today, to probably the very least. Lets see if hbo buy the ibf heavyweight vacant title fight rights and promote it main event
