Comments Thread For: Joshua Reacts To Wilder's Beef Over High WBC Ranking

A few days ago, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34KOs) spoke to BoxingScene.com and complained about the high ranking of rising star Anthony Joshua (14-0, 14KOs).

Joshua is already ranked in the number two position in the WBC's top ten. He is expected to become the mandatory challenger by the end of next year.

Wilder is set to return on January 16th against Polish contender Artur Szpilka at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Wilder is complaining about how Joshua got that high ranking???

Uh, many of us question how Wilder got to where he has reached at this point himself. Look at his resume.

I like Wilder, but this is exactly what i was thinking. I don't really know who Wilder beat to get his Mando. So It's all fair play.

Peon-Tay must forget about his own ranking situation before he got his shot.

Supposedly it was from beating Malik Scott (who many say took a dive) in a WBC eliminator. Even then, he didn't beat anyone else of note and that may include Fraudley Harrison.

^^^ Exactly. Not much different than Joshua's situation...and if he beats Whyte, the resumes could be fairly similar...

...with the exception of Joshua not fighting guys that are coming off 5 or 6 fight losing streaks...

Hahaha, wow. This guy needs to check his own resume before ****ting on others.

He was parachuted into a mandatory position for the WBC strap. Joshua is simply following his blueprint!
