  • latest on antoineo margartito [in shape and ready to fight] !!!

    http://www.fighthype.com/news/article22695.html

There have been rumors circulating about a possible return to the ring for former world champion Antonio Margarito, who has not seen competitive action since December of 2011, when he lost to rival Miguel Cotto. After four years away from the sport, many felt Margarito would stay retired, especially after complications with his eye arose after having surgery on it.

FightHype, however, received word from Margarito's manager, Sergio Diaz, that Margarito's return is indeed in the works, but nothing is concrete as of yet. According to Diaz, the eye which had caused the most problems for the Mexican brawler is no longer an issue and Margarito has been cleared by doctors to fight again.

"[Margarito] wants to fight. He's gone through extensive eye and head evaluations. Every doctor he's seen has given him a release to fight again. Although his eye doesn't look right, the eyeball is good. The way the eye looks has nothing to do with the eye itself, but the orbital socket. Once he decides to have plastic surgery on the eye socket, he'll look better," Diaz explained.

Margarito and his team are currently dealing with promoter Top Rank, ironing out some contract issues that they feel will be resolved soon. For those thinking Margarito is planning a comeback due to financial troubles, that's far from being the case.

"Tony has continued to say that he doesn't need to fight and will stay retired," said Diaz.

Despite reports that Margarito is financially troubled, FightHype was assured by Diaz that information is false. Furthermore, many other people close to Margarito have also confirmed that he is indeed financially secure and that is not the motivation for a possible return.

If you're wondering how serious Margarito is about coming back, you need to look no further than his current physical state. He is walking around at 156-158 pounds and is already looking shredded and in fight shape. He's been in the gym keeping in shape for months now and by the photograph below, you can see for yourself the type of shape he's in.

Things are being worked on for Margarito to come back, and while he doesn't need to make a comeback, his manager feels we'll see the Tijuana Tornado in the ring once again.

"I do believe he fights again. We will take one fight at a time," Diaz added.

I always had a feeling he was coming back for that pay day.

Does anyone know why he is coming back with his eye condition? Financial?

This clown should go try his chances in mma and fight in Bellator or try a career in Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling). Boxing doesnt have a home for a 1eyed cheat, Idk how this guy even has fans.

David Reid had a bad eye for his entire career and it worked out for him okay. I do worry about the punishment Margarito has taken though, he'd gotten into the habit of blocking big shots with his face and to come back after more than 4 years now, not the best idea imo, but let's see what he can do!

Seriously Stax, are you not able to make a thread without the headline being completely ungrammatical. It's just annoying to the eyes.

I'd love to see Marg make a comeback and fight canelo or GGG,

We need more fighters who actually want to fight.
