Comments Thread For: Joshua Views Amateur Loss To Whyte as Irrelevant

ANTHONY JOSHUA says he has been LAUGHING watching footage of his loss to Dillian Whyte.

Watford’s Commonwealth heavyweight champion was floored in a four round points defeat to Whyte when the pair were novice amateurs in 2009.

Joshua, 26, went on to win gold at the 2012 Olympics and has since stopped all 14 professional opponents inside three rounds, with his last victim lasting just 97 seconds.

Interesting. Didn't know about that. Adds a dash of ****e to this thing, knowing there'sa small, mental advantage to Whyte.

I've liked what i've seen in AJ so far but he really needs a big time step up fight. I still haven't really seen him go thru any adversity but then again, in the states we don't get all his fights. If he has been tested and thru adversity in any of his fights someone please tell me. I just want to see him step up in class so I could see if he is the future great i believe he will be

the difference between the two was that dillian had about 20 fights experience in muay thai when this fight happened, loads of ring time compared to a novice who'd had 2/3 amatuer bouts. Of course dillian won, it doesnt really say anything much about anything. Joshua's got a fantastic amatuer pedigree and has sparred with some of the top heavyweights in the world...dillian has literally no chance and anyone saying anything else is just buying into the hype to sell the PPV
