Dawson's career, post-Ward, has kinda ended up like Donaire's after the Rigondeaux loss. So much skill and talent gone to waste from bad career choices and not the best chin.

I keep hoping for that Dawson comeback at the top of the LHW division, but it's looking less likely the more times he loses to scrubs like Karpency.

Why is Chad Dawson still fighting? This guy has gone downhill and getting over the hill. He was once the top heavyweight in the division and once his chin got exposed, and started changing trainers every other fight his career went into a tail spin.

His last fight he was out of shape, and sloppy. Hopefully now he's settled on a trainer and is dedicated again. He has the skills, the question is does he still have the heart for the sport?

After coWARD made him boil himself into a sultana to make 168 he was never the same. Fighters that go down in weight like that never recover, remember when Jones went back down to 175 after beating Ruiz? I don't mind Chad I hope he comes back, he was a good fighter. But losing to Karpency? Damn!

Scully did an interview with fighthype and Scully gets into detail about how his relationship with Chad went sour after the second Hopkins fight. Scully doesn't get it, he was oblivious to the fact that Chad was clearly unhappy with his performance against Hopkins, and he was disappointed in Scully as a trainer, yet it was his decision to fire Steward and hire Scully in the first place. And it wasn't the first time Chad made dumb decisions like that, and people wonder why his career is at an all time low.

At the very least Donaire picked up a decent TKO win over Darchinyan. Dawson couldn't beat that journeyman Karpency. And I saw that fight, there was nothing wrong with Chad Dawson, he was sharp quick, had his reflexes pretty good but still lost a decision.

I would like him to make a comeback, he's not an old man. He is 33 with a good resume, good names, former champ, so he can get some good fights if he picks it up in the gym.

Chad injured his left hand during the fight which Karpency even admits. From round 3 Chad was fighting one handed the whole fight and that made him open to Karpency's left hand. Watch the post-fight interview, Karpency admits all of this.

Despite fighting one-handed, it looked like Chad busted up Karpency more and it was still a close fight. Probably one of the reasons why he was inactive for so long is because he needed to heal his left hand.

Sucks that Dawson has gone downhill. Still a fan because he always wanted to challenge himself like a true boxer.

I think Ward/Dawson II makes a lot of sense for both fighters... Dawson gets another shot at a top fighter at 175 and a chance to resurrect his career. Ward gets a big name fighter who is of little threat to him to put on his resume at 175. Both could make a good pay check out of it.
