FFS can we stop with this guy? He's an irrelevant PED cheat who isn't fighting anyone.

No it wouldn't, in what world does Briggs count as a test. Ibragimov dominated him, Liakhovic would have won had Briggs not thrown the hail mary in the final round. Vitali won every single round. This was 5-7 years ago, Briggs hasn't magically gotten better with age.

If Wilder fought Briggs it still wouldn't even be his first real test.

Wilder should just postpone his next fight to find a quality opponent. If he fights a guy like Shannon Briggs it would hurt his career a hell of a lot more than help it.

Shannon Briggs needs to make a reality TV show, and stay away from boxing.

With Al Haymon having signed over 200 fighters I'm sure he can find at least 1 QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT to fight Wilder.

I find it hard to believe that supposedly Adamek got offered 250k and now briggs all of a sudden got offered 400k? How does that work.?

Thought his trainer or manager one said he was dehydrated, but then I guess that's one of the symptoms. Wasn't difficult to tell he wasn't his usual self.

Briggs is an asthmatic. Not sure how bad it is now, but he's said it's effected his performance in a few fights. Even so, he is a fireplug of gristle and muscle. I'd still give him a good shot to land a solid bomb. May not help Wilder's career to fight Briggs at this stage, but it would be one of the wackiest and probably funniest lead ups to a fight ever. And Briggs certainly could do no worse than Wilder's last couple of opponents.

Not the worst fight out there. I guess trying to make money becomes #1 when one's event begins to unravel. Hope for a future that involves fury v wilder in at leaste a year

I know Briggs is asthmatic, he uses it as an excuse for every loss. Brigg is in his mid 40's. I don't get where this fireplug crap is coming from he was absolutely dogshte against Ibragimov, Vitali and Liakhovic even though he won the latter he didn't push the action in any of those fights.

Even in his prime he was a slightly above average fighter, he didn't deserve the win against Foreman, got KO'd vs. Lewis. I haven't seen the Wilson fight but he did get stopped early, Fields and McCline beat him in his 30's. McCline made him look like a child, thats how bad he was in that fight.

Wilders opposition has been appalling, Briggs would be just as appalling as almost anyone else on Wilders resume. Briggs is that bad, Briggs was a B-C class fighter in his prime, what on earth makes people think he deserves a shot now apart from his fake "lets go champ" rhetoric now that he's back on steroids and running out of money.

Take the fight, Deontay! The man said yes 3 times for less money each time. You're giving him 1 month to train. If you duck now, you having the most prestigious belt doesn't mean $h it if you won't fight a 44 year old on a month's notice. It's a win/win for boxing fans. You KO him and we never hear from Briggs again, or he KO's you and we realize why you started making excuses not to fight him in the first place.
