Of course HBO isn't willing to play ball, they invested in Golovkin and it's a waste of their investment if he fights on other networks.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think Haymon is an obstacle to this fight either. Like HBO, he's investing heavily in his own product and brand. It won't matter if they have more money to put up, he's not seeing this fight happen on HBO.

HBO is all for Kovalev and Stevenson fighting as long as the fight is on HBO and as long as the fight costs what HBO wants it to cost.

But that is not how business works. Stevenson is willing to fight on whatever network is willing to pay the most for the fight. HBO won't allow Kovalev to do the same. HBO is the one blocking the fight. Haymon will let Stevenson fight on HBO is Main Events wins the purse bid.

GGG and Jacobs will be the same situation. HBO blocking the fight.
because it was a sucker deal. Big money for the Fonfara fight, with no guarantee he would fight Kovalev after. HBO was correct to say "uhmmmm no thanks".

And as for HBO blocking Kov-Stevenson, its possible, but we dont know that for sure. We only know what Duva has said to the media. Who knows if she tried to make a deal with Hershman or not.

And the one with the history of dumping a title after losing a purse bid is Haymon (Quillin-Korobov). Im not aware of any HBO fighters vacating a title after losing a purse bid.

exactly. People wanna get amnesia about the whole Quillin-Korobov thing where after Haymon lost the purse bid suddenly Quillin vacates the title and a $1.4 million payday. Haymon is the one with the history of doing that, not HBO.....

but people want to act like Haymon is walking around with olive branches in each hand lol

Projecting much? How the hell is HBO blocking that, it hasn't even been ordered by the WBA?

I understand how the business works. You have an old and vulnerable champ that never made any money till age 35. So you milk him vs no hopers for good money, terrible ratings, and little respect vs taking a very risky fight for a lot more money, exposure and upside
