Comments Thread For: Jacobs: I Proved My Doubters Wrong With Quillin Win

It was perhaps as emphatic a win as could be. Daniel Jacobs stepped in with one of the other top middleweights, Peter Quillin, hurt him early in the first round with a right hand and then finished him before the round even hit its halfway point.

And with that, Jacobs feels he will finally get the respect he deserved but which some hadn’t yet given him.

Danny, if you're reading this, you have many fans that support you. Don't you worry about what half these rac, I mean haters, say about you. You continue to stay focused, disciplined, motivated and hungry and leave these other clowns up to me.

If I have to go tit for tat with them on these boards, that's what I'll do. You just make sure that when the smoke clears and when it's all said and done, you're the last one standing. That's how you shut them up and permanently send these GGG fans to MMA.

I'm proud of you, brother. Keep up the great work and keep knocking them down and keep defying the odds. I know what you can do!

very proud of this guy. i did not pick him in this fight, but as his name suggests- MIRACLE MAN..keeps beating the odds...greats story wishing him nothing but the best as his career goes ahead...i hope peter can rebound as well they put up a great effort and quillen showed massive heart to try to fight through that..

maybe pete is just losing too much weight to make 160..might be time to move up and give that body a break

I'm so glad he won. A quick KO like that was always possible, but I didn't think it would happen. Jacobs went out there ready to do damage and blitzed Quillin. Very impressive.

No, it's not that. Because I know not all white fans are racists or racist against Jacobs. I know you're not one of them. You're a pretty good guy.

But I "AM" talking to the Euro-American and European fans that clamors for a fighter that's respectful, exciting, doesn't run, has KO power (Jacobs has 88% KO's), finishes excitingly, ect, but when they get it from someone that's not of European descent, all of a sudden the reactions aren't the same.

It's the same posters that rejoice in happiness when Kovalev, GGG, Lee, Lemieux, Saunders, Beterbiev, Lebedev, Wlad, Lomo, etc KO someone convincingly, but when done by Jacobs it's so many excuses and negative comments.

If not race related, why such distinct differences in reaction from the same outcomes?

Jacob's is a very good fighter and is exciting to watch. I predicted he would win and he did. Quillin I was never sold on and personally I do not believe he truly believed in himself. That does not matter though as Jacob's went in there and dispatched him like a warrior. It made me feel good inside. As for the GGG fans and GGG haters, Both sides have displayed racism to me. Not all the players, but a few of them.

Well, for what it's worth, just know that I know you're a good guy and not like that. So my comment above doesn't apply to you, but there's plenty on b'scene that it does apply too and they know who they are.

he's not even going to pretend that ggg exists. i like it. this is a much better strategy than asking for 10 times your previous career high.

                    Yes and No

Most doubters of Jacobs questioned his seemingly fragile chin and he didn't really prove that wasn't going to be an issue in the future
