          Hang on did someone who was done for cannabis supply in the run up to the Olympics (seemingly only stopping once he starting making big money through boxing) and then blatantly continues to use PEDs just comment on being a role model?

              You are spot on with your comments even if I wouldn't say it exactly as you have.

              First and foremost parents, extended family and teachers are the role models. Then public figures and only some of those; ie the leaders in society. Anybody who gets voted into position of responsibility or power or is trying to get into that position.

              Where do boxers fit into any of the above except for their own kids?

                  Some young kids might - and if that is the case their parents need shaking. There are some sports people who are good role models and even a very few boxers but having boxers in general as role models - nah!
