I think it was a horrible stoppage but if Quillin isn't complaining neither am i. Better man won. Moving on...

Pete knew he was beat. There's no question he got his bell rung, but enough to warrant a stoppage? If he felt he was getting robbed he would've been jumping up and down, but I think he knew he would've gotten hurt if the fight progressed beyond the first round.
It's gotta sting, and doesn't do much for his credibility....Comment

**** stoppage, possibly the worse stoppage I've seen all year and you could see the ref literally freeze, he had no idea what to do then.Comment

To me this fight proves a few things.
#1 that Jacobs is underrated by so many. I predicted him to win (just not so dramatically). He really is a very solid hungry fighter.
#2 Quillin has faded drastically over the past couple years. He has had no fire. All his talk was business etc. You could feel his head was not in it.
#3 All the Memo's in the world cannot turn it around. I believe Memo was brought in to help Pete make weight. But when you are in your 30's, the struggle to make weight will just leave you more empty.
I was kind of shocked that so many were picking Quillin. Over the past couple years, since Rosado on, he has not seemed right. Jacobs has his weaknesses yes, but you cannot deny his desire to get in there and fight. Quillin was just on borrowed time.Comment
