People really want to see fighters retire broke and with permanent brain damage. After he did that chicken dance, Quillin left the building. His body was there, but he was not. The stoppage was fine.

People saying things like "he's a champion he deserves to go out on his shield" are the same people who will call him a bum when he's never the same because he had that one fight where he took one too many shots to the head. If the punishment isn't necessary, stop the damn fight. Good job ref.

if he has the "perfect" body etc and all those defenses and ko's AGAINST WHO??? whats his BEST win? he said he's open to ANYBODY at mw thats what he said but he's on PBC and they're suing Al Haymon the most powerful man in boxing so i doubt that fight happens UNLESS they withdraw that suit on the pbc network

golovkin does NOT fight "aggressively" with fighters who can crack who comes behind the JAB just like he did in the lemiux fight this romantic notion of golovkin being like tyson is NOWHERE near the case

I guess we'll probably find out within a year. My money's on GGG though. Satellite Dish Ears is definitely the chinnier of the two. And in a GGG fight, that's the deal-breaker.

Exactly! This fight ended prematurely. Quillin managed to steady himself, so the ref should just give him a standing eight count.

I don't think they're applicable? that's what I read.

Honestly, the ref looked right into eyes and didn't like what he saw. Quillin's slurred speech in the post-fight interview would appear to suggest he'd had enough punishment. He was only going to take more from that point onwards.

These refs always ruin the fights. This could have been a good fight; the ref should atleast give him a standing eight counts to allow him to gather himself and for himself (the ref) to make a better judgement call.

This was actually a good stoppage. Quillin was getting beat up bad for about 20 seconds and when he did fight back Jacobs made him do the stanky leg. Unless you wanted to see Jacobs murder him then the referee did the right thing. Jacobs wasn't going to let up and Quillin was too far gone to come back.

I thought Quillin would pull out the win but I'm happy Jacobs won.

I didn't see the fight. But damn that was some fast work by Jacobs. Right on I'm glad and happy for Danny. He deserves it, he's a good dude.

As for Quillin, I guess the roids memo gave him didn't help and it couldn't give him heart.

If I could interview Quillin tonight I would ask him if he understands why every real boxing fan is so happy that a relative non-entity like him was beaten. Does he get it yet.
