    Catch Weight Fights

Yes or No? do you agree with them, should they be banned or should they be allowed to give the opportunity to make a fight happen that otherwise wouldn't have?

personally CW has to go, its not cool when Golovkin offered it to ward, its not cool when Paquio beat weight drained Cotto, or when Mayweather beat weight drained Canello... or when Ward beat Dawson.

Ultimately if you are the king of your division, if you move up to fight in the next division you shouldn't use your A side advantages to force fighters who are great at their weight to come in at 80% so that you can beat them... it skews the results and doesn't tell a good story, the history books will show the that W next to your name but the fans (i hope) will put an * next to that W.

The Pacquiao-cotto fight was at 145,and in the fight right before, cotto weighed in at 146 against clottey. Cotto himself said that he felt stronger and faster that ever, and that there was no way that he could lose to Pacquiao. How exactly was he weight drained?

I think a lot of these modern guys are pansies. They bicker over four or five pounds. Sam Langford fought anybody, from welterweight to heavyweight. The divisions are so numerous now, they have it easy to begin with. It's really pitiful to bicker over such things. This generation is looking very soft sometimes.

Anything that helps make big fights happen. If two guys feel more comfortable negotiating for a certain weight, they should have the right to.

Catchweight fights have been going on for a long time, they aren't new.

I think they're fine EXCEPT in title fights. In order to fight for a title you have to make weight and to be called the champion you should have to fight everyone and anyone who makes mandated weight limit.

I call bul**** because more often then not its the A side forcing the B side to come down in weight. Big fights mean **** when you are fighting at a disadvantage... sure the fight happened but we didn't see the best fight the best. we saw the best fight an 80% of the other best. If the catch weight meant both guys are 100% i am cool with that but that's never the case, 1 party exercises their drawing power to get advantages before the fight even starts.

I'm in the middle when it comes to catch weights. On one hand I think they're fine because who knows how many big fights have happened and will continue to happen which otherwise will not/would not.

On the other side, boxing has SEVENTEEN weight classes and you can't find a single one of them to fight at?!
