  • Comments Thread For: Mayweather Says Broner Rift is a Thing of The Past

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has buried the hatchet with close friend Adrien Broner. The two fighters traded words last month and things got very personal with the verbal bombs flying from both sides.

The war of words first began when Broner (31-2, 23KOs) did a video interview where he stated "f*** The Money Team" - which is Mayweather's group of friends and fighters contracted under his promotional banner. Broner was reacting to some of the verbal jabs being thrown in his direction by future challenger Ashley Theophane (39-6-1, 11KOs) and other members of the TMT banner.

Thats exactly what Broner needs. A mentor who beats women, drug cheats in his fights and starts wars with the biggest promotional outfits in the world.

Now that you mention it, Pac did beat Broners "Big Bro" so I'd say he has everything to do with it LOL

He backed down because he knows Broner would have beat him.

                    Who started the "Cold War?"

                    September 21, 2010:

Golden Boy and Top Rank have been at odds for years over Pacquiao, who once signed with both companies virtually simultaneously in late 2006. Pacquiao eventually pledged his loyalty to Top Rank, but the damage was done.

Golden Boy sued Top Rank, with which it was already embroiled in various lawsuits. The bad blood between Arum and Golden Boy's Richard Schaefer and De La Hoya, Arum's former fighter, led to a cold war between the companies. They refused to do business with each other, denying fight fans a number of marquee matches between their fighters.
