WBC lightweight titlist Jorge Linares (40-3, 27KOs) is looking forward to an impactful 2016, after defeating the likes of Kevin Mitchell and Ivan Cano earlier this year.

"We just got the notification that the mandatory is due, we're looking into that,"said Robert Diaz, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker, who works closely with the Venezuelan stylist.

            Make it happen Golden Boy.

Both guys are quick, powerful, and have speed to kill. Plus both have vulnerable chins so it makes the fight even more interesting.

If this fight happens there's no way it's going the distance.

I proposed this fight 2 years ago before the gamboa first lose.

Two of my favorite fighters I don't know who to root for, what a f**ing dilemma

Two highly skilled fighters. It's a great dilemma to have my friend.

I dont think itd go passed 6. Either Gamboa gets TKO'd from knockdowns or Linares' face gets busted open to a TKO stoppage. If these guys were prime, id say itd go 9.
