1st let me say cool thread, i have 4 boys 12, 10, 9, & 1 so it hits home. I train the older 3 myself & i will the youngest when he becomes of age. Im a jealous dad so in my heart i always would want to train them even if they decided to go pro, just thinking about me not being in their corner stings inside lol so i chose other bcuz id only want myself to train them but if i had to choose a trainer id wouldve wanted Emmamuel Steward (R.I.P.) current trainers have other interests...Comment

I would pick one that would resemble my style of getting through to fighters that would be Atlas...also doesn't hurt that he trained so many different styles even a southpaw champ so he could teach competently to train his fighter both ways....also utilizing a Damato mentality of taking someone strong points to their advantage.......you need a trainer who wants to win just as much or more than you do.
'Teddy Atlas is the best boxing trainer I’ve seen and I’ve seen a number of trainers. His approach is never laissez-faire. He never tells without showing. He’s hands-on and completely focused like the finest teachers. As his fighter hits the bag or works the mitts or spars, Teddy watches carefully. He can spot flaws in a flash and works to minimize every mistake—these remedies are never generic; everything Teddy Atlas teaches is tailored to his charge. And when his fighter is preparing for a fight, Teddy dissects everything—about his fighter, about his fighter’s opponent, about strengths to capitalize upon and flaws to expose. Like a general thinking and rethinking strategy, Atlas goes into every fight with several battle plans. He’s five-star." boxing.com
Did you consider Ray Corso as a candidate by any chance? He used to have to keep an eye on Teddy and make sure he was alright....Last edited by juggernaut666; 12-03-2015, 01:31 AM.Comment

I wouldn't let my son fight. I'll take him to the gym to learn to defend himself, but I would not want my son boxing, doing MMA or playing football at any high level.Comment
