they are referring to cunningham not having that much power and being a former cruiserweight.... that and he might go back down to cruiser again.

so fury got dropped, hard, by a light punching cruiserweight.

He had already lost twice already at domestic level dummy.

The point obviously went right over your head which isn't surprising.

Thanks for explaining it to me.

My point is, these people talk about Fury being "found out" then, when we'd seen chinks in the armour (armor, Fat Yank) before then.

I find it odd when people talk about boxing without watching it... I remember at one point there was a bit of a small buzz about Matt Skelton, as he had a high KO %. But I used to watch his fights, and they were just sloppy, clubbing TKOs where he'd worn out opponents, the guy is not a hard puncher for a hw at all. But people choose to read boxrec rather than WATCH.

It's okay if people haven't got the time to research and watch fights... but if you're talking about a fighter with affected authority and you haven't bothered to watch him, then you need to stfu, really.

A lot of times people give boxers a pass for things that happen earlier in their careers, though. It's assumed that they have improved and corrected their mistakes and become better fighters.

Plus we hadn't seen the chinks in Furey's armor against a cruiserweight before, had we? That's what raised some red flags especially for a heavyweight.

True, though his first KD was only four fights before Cunningham.

I just see it a lot in NSB, where people suggest "my knowledge = fact". They fit the story to go with what they know, not the other way round.

I'm surprised someone hasn't called me a "bias Brit" over this yet, but it's not about that. I think it happens a lot because people will only see UK fighters when they get on US TV, and base their judgement on that. Which is FINE, everyone's allowed a TAKE, but when that "take" is suggested as "fact", it gets problematical.

A big NSB bugbear is Slapsie "ducking" Froch... whereas the year Slapsie retired Froch had fought a shot-to-**** version of Robin Reid and Albert Rybacki. (Who? No, me neither).

See, what the problem is, is not people slating/not slating these fighters... it's when people spout bull**** as "fact" that it can grate a little. And if you asked the "he was exposed by Cunningham" crowd, I'm sure most of them would say it was his first KD, as they simply haven't looked into it.

Incidentally, it's a moot point now as he's just beat the heavyweight champ of the world, but for those who saw the first D Cup bout, who did you score it for?

I thought Big John had taken his bra off enough to get that win.
