    Maurice Harris

Does anyone know what happened to this guy? He hasn't fought since losing to Fres Oquendo. Also, is the Sergei Lyakowich/Jameel McCline fight still on? They were supposed to duke it out in March. Finally, what is going on with Lance Whitaker?

He collapsed during the week after the Oquendo fight. I think he suffered some head injuries in that fight. Oquendo caught him with some hard rabbit punches. I haven't heard anything from his end in a while. I do hope he's doing OK though.

Maurice Harris was like the Emmanuel Augustus of the heavyweights. He started out young, took some tough fights (He fought Richard Frazier, Vaughn Bean, Dale Brown and David Izon in his first 14 fights) , and his record was not an accurate representation of his skill as a fighter. He was clearly robbed against Holmes, gave a hell of fight against Derrick Jefferson, and blew away Sergei Luyakhovich. He did have a soft chin, but he was fast and had decent power. He was along with Izon as the 2 best gatekeepers of the 90s.
