Comments Thread For: New Kings in the Glamour Classes: BScene Ratings Update

Heavyweight: Tyson Fury solved the riddle of Wladimir Klitschko, outboxing the long reigning champion and ending Klitschko’s hopes of reaching Joe Louis’s record for consecutive title defenses. Klitschko slips to the top contender slot and everyone else falls by one.

Light Heavyweight: Eleider Alvarez gets a bump in the ratings with a solid, if not scintillating, win over Isaac Chilemba.

What a crock of sheet. Klitschko lands 4 punches per round against an amateur and slips to the "top contender spot?" Alvarev Moves to the top spot of 160, above UNIFIED champ Golovkin, when Canelo publicly admits he wont fight anyone at full 160? I demand the opportunity to slap this Cliff Rold guy in the face.

New Kings in the Glamour Classes? - Please explain how Alvarez is King of Mws when he has yet to fight at 160 and states that he is too small for that weight class and says he will be staying at 155.

B.Scene needs to have a 155 class inserted into its ranking. Cotto was first champion of that weight and Canelo is second. Maybe Bradley could miraculously be the third.

Having Lineal champions kind of made sense at first glance - a way of making sense of all the different titles and champions and knowing who was the best champion. If it is not for knowing who is the best champion what purpose does it serve?

But who are we kidding now? When 95% of hardcore boxing fans and 95% of boxing journalists think that Golovkin is the best MW on the planet why pay any attention to who the Ring champion is or who the lineal champion is when their 'champion' defies all logic.

We need a new class of champion - The Hardcore Champion. Or Readers Champion.

Don't have any major problems with these ratings.

Klitchko deserves to be in the #1 contender spot. Wilder is unproven and Wlad already beat Povetkin.

Bute vs Smith is a tough call..but Smith is still unproven and doesn't have a belt, so I can understand it.

Canelo's CWs suck, but he's the lineal MW champ. If he vacates WBC belt, I think the lineal crown should go with it.

Rigo should drop. The performance he turned in on the Cotto card was god awful. Yeah, he fought at the weight, but he deserves a drop.
