Comments Thread For: Golovkin, Gonzalez To Be Paired at Least Once More

The last two times that middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin and flyweight king Roman Gonzalez have performed, they were paired as co-headliners.

On May 17th at the Forum, in Inglewood, California, Golovkin stopped Willie Monroe Jr. in six rounds, while Gonzalez blew out Edgar Sosa in two. Then on the night of October 17th at the Madison Square Garden in New York, Golovkin halted David Lemieux in eight and Gonzalez took care of Brian Viloria in nine.

They match up pretty good. But if they do them separately then In the next fight for GGG might be Johnson or another tune up and a tune up for Gonzalez. GGG vs Lee would be good on its own and so would Gonzalez-Estrada rematch

One wonders if Golovkin will do his usual early-year fight in Monaco.

Crickets from WBC apart from doing a double header BS with Canelo. When it suits Sulamain he is full of soundbites but not now.

Saturday will be 2 weeks but it was always a ****** idea to put a 2 week limit on coming to an agreement. This is boxing and its full of prima donnas.

GGG is dragging Gonzalez down. Gonzalez should fight on the undercard of a real Mexican, not a wannabes.

So is Gonzalez/Ruenroeng off? That was going to be on a Wednesday in Japan.

Loeffler said they'll continue to do one international fight per year, but that they're done with Monaco. Golovkin said he wants to do a fight in Khazakhstan (they opened a new arena this summer), South Korea has made an offer, and the winner of Lee/Saunders or Eubank could happen in the UK.

Gonzalez vs somebody under 30, and 3G could do a non title at 168. Test the water.

                  Why Stop A Good Thing

Both should continue to be paired together. They help each other sell out arenas and push each other to perform at another level. Until they stop putting A$$ES in seats then they should continue being paired.

Haven't there been other elite/or hall of fame fighters continuing to be on each others cards?

No one gives a **** about GGG & Roman. Tell me that GGG & Canelo are being paired...on opposite sites of the ring on May 7, 2016.
