The key for Fury, Banking on Wlad's clinch.

It might seem rather simplistic, but I think Tyson Fury found a glitch.... The Klitschko clinch...

It seemed to me that Fury would use a lot of head movement and fainting to make Wlad unsure.... Then Fury would engage from distance and duck his head down when the gap was closed.... Wlad would clinch and Fury would rip a body shot or two (Hitting the back of Wlads head along the way) then the ref would break...

Wlad needed to rip uppercuts whenever Tyson dropped his head in close, but he clinched instead... I think it worked well for him, but he'll need another playbook if they clash again...

It's a unusual tactic for a taller fighter with longer reach to use against a shorter boxer, but they did their homework and it worked..... He shouldn't think Wlad (or Wilder for that matter) wouldn't figure that tact out during film.

That's what stood out the most to me..(Wlads age too) What did you see ???

    Wlad doesnt throw uppercuts

He has no inside game, the clinch is his inside game...Fury took it away from him

Thats why Wlad kept tuning his back on Fury

Fury told us before the fight, all Wlad has is 3 punches, Jab, Hook and a Right Cross....

Yup agree, I saw that as a smart tactic too. In the 2nd half, it's like he went and looked for Wlad's clinch. He was changing levels and putting his head right under Wlad's left arm..right there for Wlad to do what has become second nature to him. Watching it live, it felt like he was maneuvering his head to those positions, so I don't think it was an accident. Like Frankie bruno says, he knew there would be little to no uppercuts to watch out for.

Anyway, I think it put all the focus on Wlad's clinch - and for the first time in a long time, Wlad paid for it on the cards. Wlad's automatic clinch was driving Roy Jones nuts lol

All this time i figured Fury would be looking to really work over Wlad on the inside and attack him from there but he didn't even really do that. I mean, he would always make sure to get in at least one or two shots, e would make sure to turn wlad and take an angle (which is why Wlad was turning his back )but I thought he would really turn into an octopus inside at some point. He did opened up a bit more later on in the 11th up until Weeks warned him, but I thought for sure he would have been desperately fighting off every clinch instead of looking for them like he did.

And yeah, Wilder will be a different fight. Speed is a big factor in that one

Nice analysis. Fury did Wlad up like a kipper.
