  • Comments Thread For: Fury: Being Champ Was My Destiny, But It Wasn’t Easy

Tyson Fury said he and those closest to him have long known he would become the heavyweight champion someday. That day has come with Fury’s decision win over Wladimir Klitschko. Yet just because they knew it would come doesn’t mean that he had a smooth road there.

As a huge Klitschko fan, I'm still gutted how he lost. I hate to attribute it to age because in my opinion it was more of fear. Fury couldn't hurt him or knock him out in the 70 whatever punches he landed, and Wlad was STILL afraid to go for it and get in there and start swinging with the major power he has. That was sad as a heavyweight champ. If I'd never seen a boxing fight before and watched this fight, I'd have never known Wladimir was a champion or had been for that long. It's sort of the Brock Lesner effect--he was powerful and the champion, but the dude just did not like getting hit in the face. Until now, no one was really able to tag Wladimir like that and control the fight like Fury. And now we see. Lennox Lewis was saying his corner mis-trained Klitschko to fight the taller fighter. I've said Banks needs to be replaced by someone with experience for a few fights. I didn't appreciate some of the comments Fury was making about certain groups of people and the likes, but when Wlad retires, I'll probably pull for Fury or Joshua. Fury has a lot of character and is much more likable than Haye (much, MUCH). Joshua I think is going to be the man to beat. Fury will probably have 4 or 5 losses by the time he hangs up the gloves, but Joshua is so tricky to guess on because he has ridiculous power, athleticism and appears to have a good chin. Exciting times ahead for the big guys.

I'm Glad Fury won, now we'll get some entertainment. The K Bros could fight, but they were boring personalities, methodical and dull. I won't be upset if he gives Wilder some benign neglect. Wilder was the one that went for the fazool, the Onega. Let him defend his Gucci knock off in the Alabama woods.

Why should he be interested in David Haye? What has Haye done i the past 3,5 years? What has Haye done at heavyweight anyway?

Not much....he only won the Heavyweight Championship of the World from the largest Heavyweight Champion in history, then while nursing a broken foot bone landed about the same amount of shots at a higher percentage on PRIME Klitschko than Fury did on a 40 year old shell of Klitschko and did to Derek Chisora in 5 rounds what Fury couldn't do in 22 rounds.

Footage of teenage Tyson Fury predicting boxing success

              http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-manchester-34957644

The BBC has uncovered footage of an 18-year-old Tyson Fury confidently predicted he would one day become a world champion.
In the archive interview, Fury, who beat Wladimir Klitschko to take the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles on Saturday, said nothing would stop him in his quest for glory.
But back in his days as an amateur training in a gym in Wythenshawe, Manchester, the boxer's biggest problem was finding someone to fight him.
Trainer Steve Egan, who admitted being taken aback by Fury's 6ft 7in frame, said no-one in Britain wanted to go up against the fighter, such was his fearsome reputation at the time.
"It's like asking a labrador to run round a greyhound track," Fury's dad, John, added.

Haye stunk the place out and won a close decision against the worst HW champion in boxing history, a guy who was given an absolute boxing lesson by a shot to pieces Evander Holyfield the very fight before.

Haye was blowing out of his arse during the Chisora fight, and would've gassed and been KTFO until he landed his lucky punch.

Tyson Fury completely embarrassed Chisora, shut him out, took his soul, and could've KO'd him any time he wanted to.

Haye dropped Chisora multiple times and even beat his funky ass down in a street fight. Haye wobbled and retired a 7 foot Heavyweight Champion that never lost by KO or UD to win the Heavyweight crown. Fury landed the world's record LOWEST amount of punches in a heavyweight title winning "performance" and did it against a totally shot 40 year old to win the title.

David Haye's methane has accomplished more than Tyson "Man Boobs" Fury.
