As dreadful as the Klitschko-Fury fight was, it seemed like the little action that did happen came in the last two rounds. I think they were both tired enough of moving at that point. I don't know that it would make any difference, but in the past, crazy things happened in the "Real Championship" rounds. It looked like they were starting to connect.
I Would Like to Have Seen 15 Rounds

I think what you saw in those two rounds would have ended up happening in the 14th and 15th. Wlad only decided to fight because he realized it was his only chance, and even then he was reluctant. If the fight was 15 rounds he would have just been standing around for the 11th and 12th. -
I'd like to see wlad actually have the temperament of a fighter to go with his physical tools. Even when he knew he desperately needed a ko he was cautious af.Comment

That's definitely a possibility. I guess I would be hoping they would get tired of moving and just start trading. Unfortunately the 15 round fights are gone. I really miss those days. I agree. He was overthinking the fight. A lot of fighters do this. They need to just let their hands go. Shyt or get off the pot as they say.Comment

15 rounds?
F*** that!
I'd like to see less rounds.
Make it 8 rounds! With 8 rounds, there are no wasted feel out rounds.
Had Wlad/Tyson fight been 8 rounds we wouldn't have suffered through those long middle rounds. By the 4th round, Wlad's corner would have been telling him what they were telling him in the 10th. You're down and you need a KO to win. Step on it!Last edited by JJRod; 11-30-2015, 06:12 PM.Comment

Those days are long gone and so is the mentality of that era, as well. Fighters of this era would just make a 15 round fight a more protracted, boring, affair. There is very few fighters left that go for the kill.Comment

You see these threads every so often and the people who start them always overlook that one crucial aspect. If the fight was 15 rounds, they would have trained for 15 rounds and the same thing would have happened, but 3 rounds longer.Comment

I think 13 rounds for championship fights would be great. Less chance of a draw and that one extra round would be enough to make the difference between championship fighters and the pretenders.Comment
