Give Fury the respect he deserves

The time of punching yourself and getting knocked down by cruiserweights is over. Fury has looked untouchable for 3 fights in a row now. Chisora, Hammer, Klitschko... His defense disarmed them all. His improvements have been very obvious and he has defied all odds with astonishing courage. I didn't expect him to last against Wladimir, but he completely outboxed him. Why can't people just give Fury the respect he deserves? Even Wladimir didn't make excuses for his loss. Sure, Wladimir is nowhere as fast as he used to be, but he was still a great opponent to beat and Fury did it with style. This guy is young, massive, fast, has okay punching power and is very skilled, even able to box both righthanded and lefthanded. Povetkin won't be able to touch Fury, due to size difference, and Wilder only has a puncher's chance to beat him. I see Anthony Joshua as the biggest threat to Fury at the moment.

Anthony Joshua would get beaten like the rest of them, he doesn't have the tank or skills to compete with the Furious One, neither does Wilder.

The best HW with a chance of beating Fury is Luis Ortiz, a tricky, slick southpaw who has enough boxing skill to land on Fury. Even then Fury would be a big favourite.

If Fury beats Wilder, Povetkin, Ortiz and Joshua as easily as he beat Klitschko, then I will be honest and say that Lennox Lewis is the only heavyweight in history that I imagine to stand a chance against Fury.

I never understood why people think Fury had a bad chin because he was put down by Cunningham. It was just an excellent fast well-placed shot that sent Fury backwards and down, it happens. It's like saying Ali had no chin because he wasn't even on the planet for about 2 minutes after being dropped by a 185 pound Henry Cooper.

Fury got right back up and took the fight to Cunningham, that's what matters. Anyone can be put down with a perfect shot, not everyone can get up. Nothing wrong with Fury's chin. Wlad landed a flush right hand that didn't phase him.

I always liked Fury, but to be honest, I thought Wladimir would stop him in a few rounds, despite Fury's obvious improvements.

Well, i picked Fury but i can see why people would predict that. Then again some people are just more clued up on Fury and have seen more of him than others. I've seen him a lot so i knew he's not actually chinny but then again i'm sure Wlad could crack a very good chin anyway with the right shot. Even if Wlad did knock him out, it wouldn't mean he had a bad chin but everyone would go back to that Cunningham fight anyway.

There was some points in the build up where i started to doubt if Fury could really do it right up until about 1 hour before, but in the end i put my money on him. Sometimes it's just someones time and i had the feeling this was his time.

Fair play to Wlad too. He has been a great champion no matter which way you cut it. When talking about the list of great Heavyweights, he has to be somewhere in the conversation. One shot can change everything especially in the heavyweight division no matter who you're fighting, just ask Lewis, so to reign for as long as Wlad did must be applauded but you can't reign forever and right now Fury is top dog.

Fury's career kind of remind me about a japanese comic that I used to read, called Naturo.

Naruto got underestimated by everyone in his ninja village, but he got their attention by being a troublemaker, despite being a good guy inside. Naruto improved and beat powerful foes, like the talented Neji, while slowly gaining respect despite still having many haters and doubters who refused to respect him for his achievements. Only when Naruto took it to a new level and saved the ninja village from the powerful ninja called Pain, only then did Naruto finally get the respect he deserved.

Likewise, I'm sure Fury will get more respect when he takes it to the next level by destroying Wilder and becoming the undisputed champion with all the belts.
