Comments Thread For: Fury: No Need to Mention Wilder Since I Beat Klitschko

Wladimir Klitschko used to have three major world titles and was the lineal heavyweight champion. Now he does not and is not. But now that Tyson Fury does have the belts — and is the champ— there’s still the matter of the owner of the fourth title, Deontay Wilder.

Klitschko and Wilder had spoken before about hopefully being able to meet sometime in 2016. Fury doesn’t have the same desire as the man he just defeated.

Makes sense with the rematch clause, but if Wilder gets past Povetkin this fight will have to happen, and Deontay is way to athletic and matches size with Fury.

the fight will obviously happen i think hes just a bit upset he probably feels like he deserves to be considered the champ and that wilder didnt beat no where near the opponent of wlad to get his title. fury vs wilder would be so good for the sport tho

        I agree 100%.

Wilder has Povetkin problems right now.

Fury has a rematch on deck and several mandatory obligations.

Talk of this fight is way to premature.

This guy is really going to sit here and brag about that staring contest?

The important thing that Tyson showed was that he can take a punch better than I thought and he moves his head better than I thought...

Wlad isn't the same fighter when he can't jab and clinch all night...he fought a bigger guy who took away his jab..the clinching obviously never ends with Wlad and it's a disgrace to boxing that fighters are not DQ'd for clinching...

I think this loss completely diminishes Wlad's legacy... it shows that Wlad wins basically all on his height/weight advantage because it allows him to jab and clinch every opponent...

That being said Wilder is a different beast...Wilder actually has athleticism and real boxing ability...

I still think Wilder is the best heavyweight out there... but he's going to struggle more than Wlad did against common opponents because Wlad basically is all about style..he jabs and clinches smaller guys.. Wilder actually will have to out-skill the same opponents...

I think Wilder v. Pot and Wlad v. Fury 2 have to fight each other...

              He's right about Wilder.

Fury's the man. Wilder is a contender.

Wilder needs to step it up from the sub 40 ranked handpicked scrubs he's been fighting before he gets a sniff at a unification.

Easily the worst gight i haveever watched. Lack of skill by both fighters. Wilder will beat tyson no doubt. He is way more athletic. Eaons ahead of tyson. Tyson is slow as well and zero footwork. Wilder will be the next undisputed champ. Tyson will duck him. Obviously if you listen to hiscomments
