Comments Thread For: Alvarez Edges Chilemba To Earn Light Heavy Title Shot

Eleider Alvarez and Isaac Chilemba aren't the type of boxers to strike fear in the hearts of other top light heavyweights, but they proved to be hell for one another over the course of their 12-round title eliminator.

In the end, it was Alvarez who prevailed by majority decision in a hard-fought battle Saturday evening at Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Canada. [Click Here To Read More]

Like I have said almost every single week....whenever there is a close fight, they give it to the unbeaten fighter. And it has been non-stop this way for months. Looks like they scored Alvarez's misses as landed. Chilemba clearly outboxed Alvarez. But the raw deal for the "winner" is they get the head concussion KO loss lottery against Stevenson who will put a serious beat down on the "winner" tonight.

If you've watched pbc you'd know there's a upset literally every other week involving undefeated fighters

Yes, but RARELY for close fights. The fact is, a massive majority of close fights go to the undefeated fighter because of the marketability factor. And this has been going on for the more than 25 years I have been watching boxing.

And that favoritism is even more notorious when those marketable boxers are fighting in their hometowns (judges always tend to favor local fighters even when they probably wouldn't like to but the noisy public support influence them).
